Contributions to Clubs and Associations
Recreation Committee Contributions
Activity contributions are granted to eligible groups with at least five participants between the ages of 7 — 20. Contributions for premises and facilities may be granted to clubs and organisations for a permanent or rented locale for activities for young people. Youth leadership contributions may be granted for training and education of leaders for youth activities. Start-up contributions may be granted to newly started clubs and associations that have at least 15 members, an elected steering committee and statutes. Associations or clubs owning permanent premises located in TorsbyMunicipality, arranging activities aimed mainly at local residents, can receive contributions for such activities. Culture Committee Contributions
The Municipal Culture Committee distributes contributions to cultural groups for projects and events. The application for a contribution must be from a cultural association and include a description of the project or event and an estimate of the costs and revenues as well as the number of visitors and an evaluation of the event as a whole. This documentation is required in order for the committee to evaluate grants in relation to stated goals. Application/Evaluation forms can be found on www.torsby.se
or ordered from the library. The committee also issues the Torsby Municipality Culture Scholarship every year. This grant, SEK 12000, is given to a person with connections to Torsby and that has made a positive contribution in the culture area. The prize is usually awarded at the Municipality Council meeting in December. The chairperson and chief administrator of the Culture Committee are included in the steering committee for the Christine Rebane Youth Fund that awards an annual grant to young people under 30 with ties to Torsby who are active in cultural activities.Applications must be made no later than October 15 of each year.Call 0560-161 04 if you want more information on the culture grants. The Youth Fund is money the Municipal Executive Committee has reserved for grants to youth projects, usually in the amount of SEK 75000 annually. The Youth Council decides how the grant is awarded. For more information, see page 20. Other funds
Torsby Municipality administers other funds created by donations. Application for grants from these funds can be made annually in the spring. Information regarding other funds is found in advertisements. Information on all funds can be found at the municipal website on the Internet: www.torsby.se
